[Spoiler Alert] – this issue has an extended announcement on changes…
‘On Hiring’ – the sharp eyed amongst you will have noticed a change on the subject line of today’s email. After over 116 issues, we are formally changing the name of the newsletter to what everyone have been calling it since forever. So it’s goodbye ‘On Hiring’ – and an official hello to ‘Recruiting Brainfood’. The tag line is now thoroughly messed up though, so anyone got any bright ideas on what it should be, let me know by reply to this email…
Brainfood Online – we’ve been needing a place online to connect members of the community with each other. It’s been tough to make a decision on this, but we’re going with a closed fb group. I appreciate everyone’s feedback, especially those who voiced concerns at using Facebook as the platform. However, it was by far the most popular option amongst the subscribers – Slack a distant second – so that’s where our first community property will be. There might be other channels added later if there is support for it. This group will only for subscribers, have a zero cross post or promo policy. We’ll be using it to discuss brainfood content, host livestreams, plan events, give out swag (there’s going to be swag) and break special ‘brainfood exclusive’ deals. So, see you over there
Brainfood Live On Air – we’re going to do a weekly livestream to take a deeper dive into some of topics shared here. I’ll be joined as co-host by brainfood chief promoter, Adam Gordon, as well as the writers who actually make the brainfood we all love to consume. It’s on crowdcast, start date tbc but follow the channel here to get notice as to when it kicks off. It will be soon.
Special thanks this week goes to…
Janine Owen, Colin Donnery, Christian Madsen, Hannah Morgan, Glenn Martin, Elaine Kilkenny, Edoardo Volpe, Joe Mullings, Steve Jacobs, Paul Dewick, Renee Robson, Mitch Sullivan, Will Hunt, Andreas Dittes, Matheos Simou and Jane Watson for your magnificent support – public endorsements are the only way this newsletter can grow and stay free for readers. Thank you!
